4.2 kg of drugs and 38,000 euros seized, Border Police arrest two people in Muriqan

The Border Police in Muriqan have arrested two individuals, in whose vehicle 8 bags of suspected narcotic substance (cannabis) were found, weighing 4.2 kg.
According to police reports, the arrested are citizens A. Sh., 42 years old, and E. K., 32 years old, both residents of Tirana, who are suspected of having purchased the наркотic substance in Germany.
Meanwhile, a 48-year-old man has also been criminally prosecuted for failing to declare 38,000 euros, which were seized as material evidence.
“In continuation of the work of the Border Police services at Muriqan BCP, aimed at preventing and combating illegal activities at the border, upon entry into the Republic of Albania, two cases were identified and struck.
1. Specialists for the Investigation of Crimes at DVKM Shkodër initiated criminal proceedings while the individual remained free for a Polish citizen, Ë. C., 49 years old, after 30,000 euros were found on him during a physical check at entry, which he had not declared in accordance with the law, while another 8,000 euros were found in his handbag.
2. Additionally, specialists from the Narcotics Investigation Section arrested citizens A. Sh., 42 years old, and E. K., 32 years old, both residents of Tirana.
During a check at exit, in the vehicle they were traveling in, the Muriqan BCP services found 8 hidden bags with suspected narcotic substance cannabis, weighing about 4.2 kg, which was seized as material evidence.
From the initial investigative actions, it is suspected that the two individuals had purchased the narcotic substance in Germany,” the police statement said.
The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecution Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction Shkodër, for further actions.
