60 kg of cannabis seized, 52-year-old arrested

The operation codenamed “Cargo” has been finalized by the Narcotics Investigation Section, in cooperation with the Special Operational Force Section.

A 52-year-old man was arrested after being caught in flagrante in the village of Luz while transporting the narcotic substance by vehicle with the intent to sell it.

The Narcotics Investigation Section, in cooperation with the Special Operational Force Section, as part of ongoing efforts to combat criminal activity in the field of narcotics and based on secured information regarding a case of drug trafficking, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed “Cargo,” as a result of which the following citizen was caught in flagrante and arrested:

– A. M., 52 years old, resident of Krujë.

During the operation, police services stopped the vehicle driven by A. M. in the village of Luz, Fushë Krujë, where they found 6 sacks containing suspected cannabis sativa, with a total weight of 60 kilograms.

Investigations indicate that the narcotic substance, valued at approximately 60,000 euros, was intended to be sold in small doses in the city of Krujë and in Tirana.

The narcotic substance was seized as material evidence, along with the vehicle and one mobile phone.

Investigations continue to fully document this criminal activity and to identify other individuals involved.

The procedural materials were forwarded to the Prosecution for further actions, for the criminal offense of “Production and sale of narcotics.”
