Arrested 59-year-old in Elbasan, accused of attempting to have sexual relations with minors

A 59-year-old man from Elbasan has been arrested after allegedly attempting to establish contact with minors with the intention of engaging in sexual relations.

According to unofficial sources, he is suspected of the criminal offense of “Sexual or homosexual relations with minors,” in the attempted stage.

Preliminary investigations indicate that he allegedly obtained minors’ phone numbers through deception and grooming, communicated with them, and invited them to meetings, initially in public places such as cafés and later at his residence.

Police investigations are continuing to fully document the case and determine whether other individuals may have been involved. The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
