An Albanian worker has lost his life in Greece following a workplace accident.
According to Greek media, the 45-year-old man, whose identity has not yet been revealed, was performing work on the roof of a house in the Mytilene area when he fell from a significant height under circumstances that are still unclear, resulting in his death.
The Albanian worker had a regular job at a restaurant, but often took on a second job like the one during which he lost his life to supplement his income.
The local Labor Center in the area where the accident occurred issued a statement condemning the incident and called for a protest gathering today, Sunday, at 12:00 PM in Sappho Square.
In its statement, the Labor Center highlighted that “low wages, strict working hours, and the high cost of living force thousands of workers to take on second and third jobs.”
