A whole arsenal of weapons / Police arrest 20-year-old: Suspected of supplying criminal groups

Durrës police have concluded the code-named operation "Base," uncovering an arsenal of weapons and ammunition in Manzë that is suspected of being used to supply criminal groups. During the operation, a 20-year-old was arrested in the act, while officers seized four pistols, a Kalashnikov rifle, a shotgun, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, and other material evidence.

The seized weapons will undergo forensic examination to determine whether they were used in previous criminal incidents, while investigations continue to identify other individuals involved in the criminal activity.

The code-named police operation "Base" has been successfully concluded.

A stash containing an arsenal of weapons and ammunition, suspected of being used to supply criminal groups, has been uncovered.

A 20-year-old man was caught in the act and arrested.

Police seized four pistols, one Kalashnikov rifle, one shotgun, six magazines, hundreds of rounds of live ammunition, one Italian vehicle license plate, and one mobile phone.

As part of ongoing efforts to crack down on illegal firearms possession and prevent serious criminal incidents, and based on intelligence gathered through operational channels, officers from the Manzë Police Station, in cooperation with the operational units of the Durrës Local Police Directorate, organized and successfully carried out the code-named operation "Base."

As a result of the operation, police discovered a stash where firearms and ammunition were being stored, allegedly for the purpose of supplying criminal groups.

During a search of the home of E.P., a 20-year-old resident of Manzë, Durrës, police officers found and seized, as material evidence, four pistols, one Model 56 automatic rifle (Kalashnikov), one shotgun, six magazines, hundreds of rounds of ammunition of various calibers, one Italian vehicle license plate, and one mobile phone.

At the conclusion of the procedural actions, E.P. was arrested in the act.

The seized weapons will undergo forensic examination at the Institute of Scientific Police to determine whether they were used in previous criminal incidents.

Investigations are continuing to identify and bring to justice other individuals involved in this criminal activity.

The case materials will be referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the Durrës Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction for the criminal offenses of "Illegal production and possession of firearms, explosive weapons, and ammunition" and "Illegal production and possession of hunting and sporting weapons."
