Beginning this weekend, particularly on Sunday (June 1), a wave of warm air from Africa is expected to reach the Balkan region, including North Macedonia.

This influx of hot air will lead to a significant rise in temperatures, marking the arrival of true summer weather across much of the region.

Over the weekend—Saturday and Sunday (May 31/June 1)—North Macedonia will experience mostly sunny weather with light to moderate cloud cover and a light to moderate northern breeze. There will also be occasional brief showers and isolated thunderstorms in some areas.

In Skopje and its surroundings, temperatures will gradually rise over the weekend. The weather will remain mostly stable, dry, and sunny with light cloudiness and a northern wind.

Starting Sunday, temperatures will notably increase, reaching typical summer levels—ranging between 20°C and 28°C across much of the region. In Skopje, the mercury is expected to climb up to around 27°C./ Oranews
