A grave and dramatic event shocked the community of Sesto San Giovanni, in northeast Milan, on July 23. The victim, Hayati Aroyo, 62 years old, of Turkish origin and known for his ties to the criminal underworld in his country, was attacked with extreme violence. He was stabbed more than 30 times, and his body was later set on fire in an attempt to erase all traces of the crime.
According to the arrest warrant issued by Monza prosecutor Marco Giovanni Santini, those suspected of responsibility for this crime are Valentina Peroni, 36, her husband Emanuele Paganini, 38, and Albanian national Elvis Simoni, 33. Investigations revealed that the latter is suspected of having delivered the first stab to the victim and then burning his body in the apartment where the crime took place.
The motive behind the incident is linked to an erotic video that the victim had stored on a tablet, in which Valentina Peroni appeared. According to investigators, the electronic device, along with cash, a mobile phone, and three credit cards, was stolen immediately after the crime. One of the credit cards was used in a gambling game in Busto Arsizio, which helped investigators trace the perpetrators.
This brutal crime highlights the dark world of criminal ties, where passions and the exploitation of technology serve as key drivers for violent actions. Authorities continue their investigations to clarify all the details of the case, while the Monza Prosecutor’s Office is rigorously pursuing the matter.
The event shocked the local community and raised concerns about safety and the control of criminal networks in the area, underlining the importance of inter-institutional cooperation for the prevention and punishment of such brutal acts.
