“Alpet,” “Elda,” and “Gega” raise the price of diesel, reaching around 200 lek per liter

In several retail stations in Tirana and along the highway, the price of diesel has increased by 16 lek per liter, rising from 182 lek per liter on Friday, March 6, to 198 lek per liter today.


Observations along the highway show that the increase is reflected at fuel stations of companies such as “Kastrati,” “Alpet,” and “Gega,” where diesel now reaches 198 lek per liter, while gasoline is sold at 188 lek per liter.


The increase is also seen at several stations within Tirana.


At the Kastrati retail station near the Xhamlliku area, diesel is now sold at 198 lek per liter, up from 182 lek per liter on Friday.


Similarly, at several “Elda” company stations, diesel has risen to 198 lek per liter from 189 lek per liter yesterday, marking an additional 9 lek increase for this company.


The Hydrocarbons Association reports that the retail market has reflected changes in international oil prices since Friday.


On Friday, international oil prices reached 88.9 USD per barrel. By Sunday evening, prices climbed to 103 USD per barrel and remained at 103 USD per barrel on Monday morning.


Yesterday evening, after President Donald Trump announced a halt to attacks, oil prices on international markets dropped to 90 USD per barrel. Before the Middle East attacks, crude oil traded at 65 USD per barrel.


Domestically, the retail diesel price increase began on March 4 with an initial rise of 4 lek per liter, from 175 lek to 179 lek per liter. The 175 lek per liter price had remained unchanged since October 2024.


Then, on March 6, the price rose again by 3 lek, reaching 182 lek per liter.
