The price of diesel rises again by 7 lek, reaching 189 lek per liter

Since Thursday, March 4, 2026, the price of diesel in the domestic retail market has continuously increased due to rapid changes in international market prices.


Following the onset of attacks in the Middle East, retail diesel prices have changed three times, reaching 189 lek per liter today at some points in Tirana.


Compared to the price before the attacks, diesel has risen by 14 lek per liter so far.


According to a “Monitor” observation today, in some retail stations the price has increased again by 7 lek per liter. From 182 lek on Friday, March 6, diesel now reaches 189 lek per liter.


The increased price in Tirana has been recorded at the “Elda” company station near the Oxhaku area, where diesel has reached 189 lek per liter.


Some retail stations have also recorded price increases for gasoline. At a “Coral” station near “Casa Italia,” gasoline has reached 186 lek per liter, while diesel is sold at 181 lek per liter.


Prices at the “Gega” company stations near the Food Market show diesel at 182 lek per liter, unchanged from Friday, March 6.


Prices along the highway have also remained stable. At a “Kastrati” station in Vorë, diesel is 182 lek per liter. The “Alpet” company station near a secondary highway road also shows an unchanged price of 182 lek per liter.


The retail diesel price increase began on March 4 with an increase of 4 lek per liter, rising from 175 lek to 179 lek per liter. The 175 lek per liter price had remained unchanged since October 2024.


Then on March 6, the price rose again by 3 lek, reaching 182 lek per liter.


Today’s retail price increase comes immediately after yesterday evening’s rise in international diesel prices, which reached 100 USD per barrel. This morning, the price reached 103 USD per barrel.


Before the attacks in the Middle East, crude oil traded at 65 USD per barrel.
