Another strong earthquake in Greece, the tremors lasted several seconds!

An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 on the Richter scale was recorded at 02:08 this morning on the island of Crete, causing concern among residents in several areas of the region.


The tremor, which lasted only a few seconds, was clearly felt across most of the island.


According to data from the Geodynamic Institute, the epicenter was located about 21 kilometers northwest of Rethymno, while the depth of the earthquake was 33.5 kilometers a factor that may have contributed to its wide perception.


Reports from the ground speak of a strong shake, but so far there are no reports of material damage or injured persons. Authorities continue to monitor the situation, and civil protection teams remain on standby.
