In the hospital service across the country, we have 12,300 healthcare workers, but there is still a shortage of specialist doctors in regional hospitals.

For this reason, it has been decided that specialist doctors who are transferred to regional hospitals will also benefit from a bonus of 250 thousand lekë. Likewise, in the absence of emergency doctors, doctors from the Primary Health Care (PHC) system will be transferred.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Rama government, where it was determined that specialist doctors, in addition to their salary, will also receive a monthly financial bonus.

Meanwhile, for regional and municipal hospitals that do not meet staffing needs within their emergency services, the Minister of Health and Social Welfare will order the contracting of general practitioners and the provision of services by doctors from primary healthcare centers.

This reform, which will affect regional hospitals, will make it possible to reorganize them according to the needs of the population and to profile healthcare institutions toward specific services.
