BREAKING NEWS / 41-year-old arrested in Kapshticë for helping a woman cross the border illegally

Kapshticë Border Police / Intensive checks by Border Police services to prevent illegal movement at the border.

A 41-year-old man, wanted by authorities, was arrested while attempting to cross the border illegally. He is suspected of helping a woman cross from Albania into Greece.

As part of the intensive work by the Korçë Local Directorate of Border and Migration, aimed at preventing and combating cross-border crimes and apprehending wanted individuals, the Border Police at the Kapshticë Border Crossing, in the village of Ponçar, Devoll, intercepted a 41-year-old attempting to cross the border illegally.

Checks revealed that this individual was wanted by the Korçë Border and Migration Directorate for the criminal offense of "Assisting in Illegal Border Crossing," as he allegedly helped a woman cross the border from Albania into Greece.

Following further actions, the suspect, E. Ç., 41, resident of Elbasan, was detained.

Procedural materials were referred to the Korçë Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
