The Border Police has intensified controls to prevent and combat illegal activities at the border.

Another case of smuggling has been uncovered.

A 54-year-old man has been arrested for smuggling various medical drugs and a quantity of clothing without the required documentation.

Medical drugs, clothing suspected to be smuggled from Greece, and a vehicle have been confiscated.

During systematic checks and operations based on intelligence information, the Korçë Border and Migration Directorate (DVKM Korçë) stopped a vehicle at the Kapshticë Border Crossing Point (PKK) for a secondary inspection. The vehicle was driven by citizen A.I.

During the inspection, various medical drugs and clothing without proper documentation were found in the vehicle. These items, along with the vehicle, were seized as material evidence.

Following procedural actions, A.I., 54 years old, resident of Korçë, was arrested in flagrante for the criminal offense of “Smuggling licensed goods.”

The procedural materials were referred to the Korçë Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
