The Border Police has intensified controls to prevent and combat illegal activities at the border.

Another case of smuggling has been intercepted.

A 36-year-old man was criminally prosecuted for smuggling a quantity of pesticide products without licenses from the competent authorities, fruit tree seedlings, and other work tools. The seized items included the pesticides and the suspected smuggled fruit tree seedlings.

As part of systematic checks and intelligence-based operations, the services of the Korçë Local Directorate for Border and Migration (DVKM) at the Kapshticë border crossing, in cooperation with customs authorities, inspected a vehicle driven by citizen K. G.

During the vehicle inspection, authorities found a quantity of pesticide products without the necessary licenses, fruit tree seedlings, and other work tools, which were seized along with the vehicle as material evidence.

Procedural actions were carried out, and the case was referred to the Prosecutor’s Office, where criminal proceedings were initiated against K. G., 36, residing in Hasmashaj village, Peqin, for the criminal offenses of “Smuggling licensed goods” and “Smuggling other goods.”

The procedural materials were sent to the Korçë Prosecutor’s Office for further actions.

Additionally, the patrol services of the Kapshticë Border Police Station (land border) near Vidohovë village, Devoll, intercepted 5 irregular migrants, who were processed with voluntary removal orders from the territory of the Republic of Albania.
