Broke house arrest and carried out several thefts, 26-year-old “thief” arrested / (NAME)

A 26-year-old man was arrested by police in Tirana as the perpetrator of several thefts. The individual, Agustjan Hyka, was taken into custody after breaking his house arrest measure and committing multiple thefts.

Investigations suggest that during the month of April, the 26-year-old stole sums of money and products from four businesses, and also attempted theft in a residence and another business. The court had previously placed him under house arrest for domestic violence.

“As a result of intensive investigative actions carried out immediately after reports from several citizens/business administrators regarding theft of property and assets, the services of Police Station No. 6 finalized the coded operation ‘Penalty,’ during which the suspected perpetrator of several such cases, citizen A.H., 26 years old, was located, captured, and arrested.

Investigations indicate that during April 2026, the 26-year-old stole money and goods in four businesses and attempted theft in a residence and another business.

Further checks revealed that this citizen was under the security measure of ‘house arrest’ for the criminal offense of ‘domestic violence.’

The investigation continues to uncover other thefts that may have been committed by citizen A.H.,” police announced.

The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office for further actions.
