Cannabis bust in Devoll: One arrested, another facing criminal charges

Another case of drug dealing in doses has been cracked down.

Narcotics Investigation Specialists from the Korçë Police Directorate, in cooperation with the Devoll Police Station, as part of ongoing efforts to prevent and crack down on criminal activity involving the distribution of drugs in small quantities in the Bilisht area, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed “Dozat.”

As part of the operation, 28-year-old E.M., a resident of Bilisht, was caught in the act and arrested for selling suspected cannabis in small doses in the city of Bilisht.

Additionally, 22-year-old A.B., a resident of Hoçisht, Devoll, was charged but will be prosecuted at large, as he is suspected of having purchased a quantity of cannabis from the 28-year-old.

During the operation, police seized as material evidence dozens of cannabis doses prepared for sale, a quantity of cannabis in bud form, two electronic scales, and two mobile phones.

The case files have been forwarded to the Prosecution Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Korçë for further legal action, under the criminal offense “Production and sale of narcotics.”
