Cannabis plantations discovered, police destroy 2,098 seedlings. Two people arrested

An anti-drug operation has been carried out in Shkodër, where 2,098 cannabis plants and seedlings were destroyed by burning.


In an official statement, police said the operation took place in the villages of Ndrejaj and Vukël.


Meanwhile, police announced that a 53-year-old man was arrested in flagrante delicto at the plot where the narcotic plants had been cultivated.


A 52-year-old man was also arrested on the charge of “failure to report a crime.” The village chief of Vukël has also been criminally prosecuted.


The case files have been forwarded to the Shkodër Prosecutor’s Office for further investigation.

Shkodër Region / The police operation codenamed “Clean Territory” against the cultivation of narcotic plants continues.


Two cases of cannabis cultivation have been uncovered in the villages of Ndrejaj and Vukël.


A 53-year-old man was caught in flagrante delicto at the plot where he had cultivated narcotic plants and was arrested.


A 52-year-old man was also arrested for the criminal offence of “failure to report a crime.”


The village chief of Vukël has also been criminally prosecuted.


A total of 2,098 cannabis plants and seedlings were destroyed by burning.


Services of the Shkodër Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with the Shkodër Public Safety Unit and subordinate police stations, continue intensive checks across the entire region, aiming to prevent and crack down on cases of illegal cultivation of narcotic plants.

As a result of the controls:


In the administrative unit of Shosh, in the village of Ndrejaj, services of the Shkodër Police Station identified 768 plants suspected to be cannabis sativa. During the intervention, citizen P. M., 53 years old, resident of the village of Ndrejaj, was caught in flagrante delicto and arrested.


Also, during checks carried out near his residence, 80 cubes suspected to contain cannabis sativa were found and seized.


Meanwhile, in the administrative unit of Kelmend, in the village of Vukël, services of the Malësi e Madhe Police Station identified 1,250 plants suspected to be cannabis sativa. Following further actions, citizen A. Ç., 52 years old, was arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offence of “failure to report a crime,” as he was found near the plantation of narcotic plants.


In addition, criminal proceedings were initiated at large against citizen K. B., 65 years old, village chief of Vukël.


Checks continue across the entire Shkodër region, aiming to prevent and crack down on the cultivation of narcotic plants.


The procedural materials have been forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Shkodër for further investigative actions.
