In two operations during 2020–2021, cocaine bosses Franc Çopja and Ervis Çela — who were hit by SPAK last week — managed to traffic 28 tons of cocaine from Latin America to Europe, 17 of which were seized.

However, it appears that the biggest concern for this Albanian organization — which, according to SPAK, had the power to dictate the price of cocaine in Europe — was where to hide the vast millions of euros that were coming into Albania and being laundered there.

Ervis Çela and his brothers had dug holes at the roots of olive trees to hide bundles of euros, while Franc Çopja, from Belgium, suggested that he invest in gold bars.

In the case file obtained by Report TV, another communication stands out, highlighting the huge sums of euros accumulated by each member of this organization.

According to SPAK’s case file, on February 6, 2021, at 21:33, Albin Çela wrote to his brother Ervis Çela on the Sky ECC app, saying: *“Bona i grop sonte...”* (“I buried \[it] tonight...”).

Ervis Çela: So, how much did you put in?

Albin Çela: Four bundles… 6 million… I put them over by the warehouses. I’ll pour concrete over them… But I’m worried about the garden side because they might get damp… Don’t worry, I’ll take care of it… I’m going to buy 500 kilos of gold… You can’t keep money in a hole forever.

In this conversation, the Çela brothers talk about digging holes at the roots of olive trees to hide cocaine profits in euros, their concern that the cash might get damaged underground, and their plans to invest in gold bars.

About three hours later, on the same date, Ervis Çela messages his brother Albin Çela again, asking whether the 60 million euros had been accumulated to “set up the kids.”

Ervis Çela: Did you make the 60 million?

Albin Çela: No, I haven’t yet.

Ervis Çela: Ok, you will… to set up the kids.
