Coffee smuggling at Tushemisht border, 38-year-old from Tirana faces criminal proceedings

The Korçë Regional Directorate of Border and Migration has reported a case of illegal activity detected at the district’s border crossings to the Prosecutor’s Office.

Crime Investigation specialists from the Korçë Border and Migration Directorate have initiated criminal proceedings against T. B., 38, a resident of Tirana, suspected of the criminal offense of “Smuggling of goods subject to excise duty or evasion of customs or excise obligations.”

During an inspection at the Tushemisht Border Crossing, upon entering the Republic of Albania, a quantity of suspected smuggled coffee was found in his vehicle and confiscated as material evidence.
