Tirana Police has dismantled a criminal group that was selling firearms, arresting 4 people, while 2 others have been declared wanted.
As part of the operation “Rrjeti,” the following individuals were arrested: Marsel Varka, 35, Elsaed Maqinaj, 25, Fabian Zako, 29, and Kristaq Biba, 32.
Meanwhile, Kevin Vila, 21, and Bledar Avdillari, 28, were declared wanted.
Throughout the investigation and police operations aimed at targeting the criminal activity of this group, a total of 9 individuals have been arrested, along with the seizure of 17 firearms, 4 explosive devices, a large quantity of ammunition, 4 vehicles, and 13 mobile phones.
Investigations suggest that the 6 individuals identified during operation “Rrjeti,” together with previously arrested suspects Donati Jaku, Florian Gjeta, Urim Meta, Ligor Mehmet, and Klodian Mustafa, operated as an organized group that supplied and sold firearms, explosives, and combat ammunition in various areas of the capital.
Seven firearms (4 pistols and 3 automatic weapons), ammunition, and other evidence were also seized, which will serve the ongoing investigation aimed at identifying additional members of the group and fully documenting its criminal activity.
Efforts are continuing to capture the wanted suspects.
