A possible criminal incident was prevented by the Tirana Police, with the arrest of a 37-year-old high-risk individual who was armed and carrying dangerous materials.
The suspect, identified as P.D., 37, from Paskuqan, did not comply with police orders to stop and attempted to flee on an unregistered motorcycle but was apprehended after a pursuit near the Paskuqan lake.
The operation prevented a potential criminal act against people and property, while also shedding light on two previous incidents committed by the same high-risk individual.
During the arrest, the suspect was found in possession of explosives, incendiary materials, a firearm, and an unregistered motorcycle. He was also wearing a silicone mask.
Seized items included ready-to-detonate explosives, 10 liters of flammable liquid, one pistol with ammunition, one silicone mask, and one unregistered motorcycle (suspected stolen).
Thanks to increased vigilance by Tirana Police, intensified checks, and the management of operational information, the services of Police Station No. 5, in cooperation with the Serious Crimes Investigation Unit, successfully carried out the police operation codenamed “Contingent.”
During the operation, P.D. was signaled to stop while moving on the unregistered motorcycle but refused and continued at high speed. He was captured near the Paskuqan lake.
Investigations revealed that on October 3, 2025, P.D. fired a gun at the residence of Q.K. in Paskuqan 1 and later set fire to the vehicle used in the crime near the Tapizë bridge. On October 17, 2025, in Paskuqan 2, he reportedly threw explosives at the residence of Rr.D., causing only material damage.
The motorcycle used by P.D. during the incident on “Mustafa Lita” street was suspected to be stolen.
Under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, police continue intensive work to identify and apprehend possible accomplices and to investigate other criminal incidents involving P.D.
All procedural materials have been referred to the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
