Details from the anti-drug operation: 15 arrested, 16 wanted

Further details have been made public regarding the anti-drug operation carried out a day earlier in Tirana.

Journalist Xhensila Kodra reports that the Anti-Drug Police have arrested 15 individuals, while two of them were formally charged while already in custody, as they had previously been detained in earlier operations. Meanwhile, police have also declared 16 others wanted.

Sources indicate that the criminal group was involved in the sale and distribution of narcotics, specifically cannabis and cocaine.

The suspects are believed to have supplied drugs in several different areas of Tirana, and also distributed narcotics near schools.

As material evidence, doses of drugs were seized during the operation. The investigation against them began several months ago as part of earlier crackdowns, where wiretaps and message analysis helped identify both the arrested individuals and those now wanted as being involved in the criminal activity.
