Crime reporter Klodiana Lala stated that the visit of SPAK chief Altin Dumani to the U.S. State Department (DASH) has created concern within the ruling majority, especially for Prime Minister Rama, who is trying to avoid having individuals under SPAK investigation in his cabinet.

According to her, if a new minister were to be found under investigation, it would be a major blow for Rama, negatively affecting his political and international image. This issue is even more sensitive after a series of names have been implicated in investigations in recent years, including former minister Lefter Koka, Tirana’s mayor Erion Veliaj, former MP Arben Çyrbja, as well as former minister Ilir Beqaj.

Lala also emphasized that the United States has been the main supporter of the justice reform, but in her view, the way it has been implemented in practice has had shortcomings.

“SPAK has declared that a minister is under investigation, but the name has not been made public. Dumani’s visit to DASH has ‘unsettled’ Rama because he will try to keep anyone under investigation out of the cabinet, which is why he needs as much information as possible. Having a minister under investigation would be a major hit for Rama. You know how many along the way have already been affected: Koka, Veliaj, Çyrbja, Beqaj, etc. There are many other issues that have been discussed, but the U.S. does not speak in names, only in priorities.

The U.S. was a strong supporter of the reform, Albania needed a reform and a shake-up of the system, but the way it was carried out was wrong,” she said on the program *Kjo Javë* on News24.
