Ernest Gjoka: We have the ability to come back and win every match

Skënderbeu triumphed against Teuta with a 2-1 victory this week in the Super Leagur. After the match, the Korça team’s coach, Ernest Gjoka, gave statements to the media.

“I congratulate the players for this match. After all these losses and draws, it’s not easy mentally to bring the team back to a winning mentality. Some tactical aspects we discussed about the opponent were clear. At one point, the opponent wasn’t allowing us to control the ball.

Even the goal we conceded was a moment of stagnation. However, in the second half, we were different; we brought in Rashica, which gave us more breathing room. Even though we ended up with a red card, we stayed strong. Rashica is no longer our player, but I believe we will have him available until mid-February.

From Monday to Thursday, he underwent medical tests. Yesterday, he was sick with a fever of 39°C, so he didn’t play a full half. Football is a game of feet, but if you approach it with a winning mindset, you can succeed. I believe this team has the potential to rise above this position. This was a significant wake-up call; we can win and turn things around in any match,” said Gjoka.
