The Ministry of Education responded immediately following the leak of the “Foreign Language” exam.
In a statement shared on social media, the Ministry clarified that the publication of the test, while students were still taking it, has no impact whatsoever on the examination process.
According to the Ministry, the exam is being conducted under the highest standards of security and transparency, in full compliance with the State Matura Regulations.
“The disgraceful act of photographing and publishing the foreign language exam after the test had begun does not affect the process in any way and cannot undermine the tireless work of thousands of teachers, administrators, and educational staff across the country who have dedicated months to ensuring the smooth running of this process,” the statement reads.
The Ministry further emphasized that the exam is being conducted under the best standards, giving students the opportunity to demonstrate the skills and competencies they have developed throughout their years of study.
It is worth noting that over 27,000 students across the country began the 2025 State Matura Exams today, starting with the Foreign Language exam.
Full Response:
Publication of the exam paper after the start of the test does not compromise the State Matura Process.
The Ministry of Education and Sports assures students, parents, teachers, and the general public that the 2025 State Matura Foreign Language exam is being conducted under full security conditions and complete transparency, in accordance with the current regulations, guaranteeing the highest testing standards for 27,000 students across Albania.
The Ministry clarifies to students, parents, teachers, and the public that the first exam of the 2025 State Matura, the foreign language test, is being held according to the highest standards of security and transparency, in compliance with the State Matura Regulation.
The disgraceful act of photographing and publishing the foreign language Matura exam paper after the exam started does not affect the process at all and cannot undermine the tireless work of thousands of teachers, administrators, and educational staff across the country who have worked for months with dedication to ensure the smooth running of this process.
The Ministry strongly condemns any act aimed at damaging the credibility and integrity of the State Matura, emphasizing that any attempt to disrupt the exam process will be dealt with rigorously according to the existing regulations.
The Ministry assures that the exam is being conducted with the highest standards, allowing students to demonstrate the skills and competencies they have acquired throughout their years of study.
These standards are guaranteed by the educational structures at every stage of the process: from the professional and secure preparation of the tests, to the training and certification of administrative staff. Consultations have been held in schools, model tests distributed by the Center for Educational Services since January, the administration of pre-tests in schools, as well as psychological support to help students cope with exam stress—measures that have accompanied the preparation for the 2025 Matura.
Year after year, technical control elements have also been strengthened, including security cameras, entry-exit rules, and administration standards, aiming to create a calm and suitable environment for every student.
For the Ministry of Education and Sports, the priority remains the success of every student and the right of each individual to take the exam under equal conditions. For this reason, our commitment will continue unwaveringly to ensure a fair and honest process.
