At “Fan S. Noli” University, the conference “Becoming a Greek-Albanian” is currently underway. It is organized in collaboration between Panteion University of Greece and “Fan S. Noli” University, as part of a research project funded by the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation – EL.IDEK.
In the “Congress of Manastir” Library, near the Faculty of Education and Philology, presentations are being given for Panel I.
The topic “Becoming a Greek-Albanian: A Non-Antagonistic Community in Inclusive Perspectives: Research Findings” is being presented by Ilirida Musaraj, a PhD candidate at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and Georgia Spyropoulou, a PhD candidate at Panteion University — both members of the research project team.
The conference will continue with Panel II, themed “Contextualizing Identity Changes from a Historical Perspective,” moderated by Assistant Professor Dr. Eris Rusi, head of the Department of Language and Literature. As part of this panel, the short documentary “Albgreko” will also be screened at the “Andon Zako Çajupi” Theater in Korçë.
The event will conclude with a roundtable discussion featuring Ilir Tsouko, director; Stefania Kosta, political scientist at Panteion University of Athens and a protagonist in the documentary; Dr. Jordan Jorgji, lecturer at the Department of Social Sciences, “Fan S. Noli” University; and Assistant Professor Dr. Jonela Spaho, dean of the Faculty of Education and Philology. The discussion will be moderated by Elsa Ballauri, director of the Albanian Group for Human Rights.
