Father of the 21-year-old woman in Korçë, who alleges sexual harassment by doctor Nikolla Nunka, has demanded justice for his daughter.

A serious incident has been reported in Korçë today. A 21-year-old woman has filed a complaint against surgeon Nikolla Nunka, accusing him of sexual harassment.

According to sources, the young woman had gone to the emergency department with stomach pain and vomiting. After medical examinations, doctors concluded she needed urgent surgery for appendicitis.

In her statement to the police, the 21-year-old claimed that during her stay in the hospital, the surgeon responsible for her care touched her inappropriately in intimate areas under the pretext of a medical examination. She also alleged that the doctor attempted to kiss her on several occasions.

The father of the 21-year-old has also spoken about the case, demanding justice.

Father’s statement:

“I came on holiday from Germany. For about two weeks, my daughter had stomach pain and vomiting. I gave her medication from the pharmacy, but it didn’t help. Then her mother took her to the hospital. There, doctor Niko Nunka and the scan doctor said there was nothing serious and that we should wait for the test results until midnight. When the results came, the doctor said she had appendicitis and needed urgent surgery.

I brought my daughter, and the doctor said she needed surgery. He asked if she had eaten anything, and she said yes, so the operation could not be done at that moment and was scheduled for the next morning.

The next morning she was operated on, and at 3:00 p.m. she was moved to a room. We were told she had an infection and needed treatment. The doctor said there were creams for this and that he would treat her. I agreed.

He was always using that cream. While my wife was there, he would take my daughter to a room and treat her, telling my wife: ‘Turn around.’

We had no bad suspicions because he was an older doctor and we trusted him. After four days, my daughter said she could apply the cream herself. Yesterday, the doctor came and behaved inappropriately, even trying to kiss her.

At that moment, my daughter broke down and could not take it anymore. I asked her why she hadn’t told me earlier, and she said she didn’t want to cause trouble, but she had reached her limit.

I immediately called the police, and we went downstairs very upset. I saw the doctor leaving in an ambulance and I stopped him there. I told him: ‘You are going to be arrested.’ I pulled him out of the car until the police arrived. We went to the police station and gave statements.

I want justice for my daughter. If justice is not found for her, I will find it myself. I will not forgive. I trusted him as an experienced doctor, but he turned out to be a criminal hiding in the hospital.”
