A 59-year-old man was arrested by the police in Shijak, after being caught in his home with firearms, hunting weapons, military ammunition, bladed weapons, and a quantity of suspected cocaine.

During the search of his home, police services found and seized as material evidence two pistols with magazines and bullets, three hunting weapons, military ammunition of various calibers, firearm parts, three pairs of binoculars, one drone, and eight bladed weapons of the knife type. Also, 24 doses of suspected cocaine, one electronic scale, and six mobile phones, suspected to be used for illegal activity, were seized.

According to preliminary investigation data, it is suspected that the 59-year-old possessed the weapons with the purpose of trafficking and selling them in the Shijak area, while the narcotic substance is suspected to have been distributed in small doses.

The 59-year-old who possessed them in his home is arrested in flagrante. From the investigations, it is suspected that this citizen trafficked the weapons with the intention of selling them in Shijak.

Specialists for the Investigation of Narcotics of the Durrës Police Department, in cooperation with the Shijak Police Station, in continuation of work to strike criminal activities, based also on information obtained through operative channels, organized and concluded the operation codenamed ‘River.’

Within the framework of this operation, citizen Sh. V., 59 years old, resident in Shijak, was arrested in flagrante as a suspect for the criminal offenses of “Trafficking of weapons and ammunition,” “Unauthorized possession and production of firearms, explosive weapons, and ammunition,” “Unauthorized production, possession, purchase, or sale of bladed weapons,” and “Production and sale of narcotics.”

During the operation, a search was conducted in this citizen’s home, where the following were found and seized as material evidence:

2 pistols with magazines and bullets, 3 hunting weapons, military ammunition of various calibers, firearm parts, 3 pairs of binoculars (1 for the weapons), 1 drone, and 8 bladed weapons (knives);

24 doses of suspected cocaine, 1 electronic scale, and 6 mobile phones.

Work continues to document the criminal activity of this citizen and to identify other citizens who may be involved in these criminal activities.
