The Road Police have called on all vehicle drivers to exercise extra caution over the weekend, as heavy rainfall is expected.

Through a notice, the Road Police urge drivers to be careful with speed, improper overtaking, alcohol consumption, and other risky behaviors.

They also inform that they are present on national, urban, and rural roads, using smart speed-measuring devices, drones, and breathalyzers.

APPEAL FOR INCREASED CAUTION OVER THE WEEKEND

Due to the numerous violations recorded by Road Police services—mostly during weekends which pose a high risk for traffic incidents, and given the forecast for heavy rain over the weekend, the Road Police appeal to all drivers of vehicles and motorcycles to:

Exercise caution on roads where water may be present.

Avoid driving vehicles or motorcycles above the allowed speed limits.

Do not drive under the influence of alcohol or, worse, while intoxicated; use public transport instead.

Wear seat belts and ensure all passengers do the same.

Avoid improper overtaking, aggressive driving, and using mobile phones while driving.

For motorcyclists, cyclists, and e-scooter riders:

Wear reflective vests at night to be visible in low-light conditions.

Always wear a protective helmet.

The Road Police are present on national, urban, and rural routes, using smart devices for speed measurement, drones, and breathalyzers.

In case of emergency, call the toll-free number 112, and Police services will assist immediately.
