“Gelatin” cannabis from Canada, 23-year-old arrested

The Tirana Police have finalized the operation codenamed “Shape”, as part of ongoing actions against criminal activities in the field of narcotics.

As a result of the operation, 1 kg and 54 grams of cannabis in gelatin form were seized, with an estimated value of around 10,000 euros. According to preliminary investigations, the narcotic substance is suspected to have been trafficked from Canada.

The citizen D. C., 23 years old, a resident of Dibër, was arrested after being apprehended by Police services on “5 Maji” Street, following information obtained through operational channels. During a physical search of the young man and a search of his residence, officers from Police Commissariat No. 4, in cooperation with the Narcotics Section, found and seized the quantity of narcotic substance.

Police state that investigations are ongoing to fully document this criminal activity and to identify other individuals who may be involved.
