Goods suspected of ownership violations blocked at Customs

The Customs Administration continues its inspections as part of the fight against informality and the protection of intellectual property rights.

During a physical inspection carried out at the Kakavijë Customs Branch, customs authorities, in cooperation with the Anti-Smuggling units, discovered and blocked a shipment of around 1,500 pairs of sneakers suspected of infringing the New Balance trademark.

The goods were identified during the inspection of a transport vehicle declared for transit. Checks showed that the rest of the cargo complied with the customs declaration, while the suspected products were seized for further verification procedures.

As part of the procedure, the vehicle has been placed in the customs parking area and is being monitored by the authorities until the conclusion of administrative investigations.

The General Directorate of Customs remains committed to strengthening controls, ensuring fair competition, and enforcing legislation in the fields of trade and intellectual property rights.
