Gunshots fired, police prevent a criminal incident! Four people detained

Police have prevented the escalation of a conflict among several young people in the city of Sarandë, while two individuals have been declared wanted after shots were fired into the air.

According to the official statement from the police, the incident occurred on March 12, 2026, at around 22:30 on “Panorama” street, in Neighborhood No. 1 of the city. Investigative actions suggest that the citizen J.L., 19 years old, together with a minor, following previous conflicts and for minor motives with several young people, fired a gun into the air to threaten them.

Thanks to the quick response and investigative work of the Crime Investigation Section at the Sarandë Police Station, on the evening of March 13 it was possible to apprehend and detain four individuals: A.Z., G.A., A.B., and D.Z., all 18 years old and residents of Sarandë. They are suspected of having been aware of the incident and of failing to report the crime.

During the inspection of the scene, police services seized five shell casings as material evidence, several mobile phones, and a vehicle.

Meanwhile, police have declared the suspected perpetrator J.L. and the minor wanted, and work continues to locate them and fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.

The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor’s Office of Sarandë for the criminal offenses of “Threats,” “Production and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition,” “Disturbing public order,” and “Failure to report a crime.”
