A serious incident occurred during the night in the Monteverde area of Rome, where a 27-year-old man lost his life after falling from the third floor of a tourist residence where he was staying with his friend.
According to preliminary information, the victim, Leonardo Fiorini, had been involved in a heated argument with his roommate, 25-year-old Italian-Albanian David Stojanovic. The conflict, which initially began inside the room, reportedly moved toward the balcony during the altercation, according to neighbors.
During the physical confrontation, Fiorini is suspected to have been pushed and fallen from a height of about 12 meters, dying instantly. Emergency medical teams arrived promptly but were unable to save him.
Stojanovic was found still inside the apartment in a severely altered psychophysical state, allegedly due to substance use. A quantity of hashish was also seized in the room. Both young men were engaged, but their partners were not present at the time of the event.
The 25-year-old was immediately taken to the police station, and after questioning, at around 01:30, the prosecutor ordered that he be placed under house arrest, pending the court hearing to confirm the measure.
Investigations by the Carabinieri continue to clarify the motives for the conflict and the exact dynamics of the fatal fall.
