A 27-year-old man has been arrested after stealing from businesses in the Shijak area.

The young man is also suspected to be the author of three earlier thefts committed in various businesses in the Shijak area, where he stole sums of money, valuable items, and various accessories from a market and two businesses in the villages of Borak and Xhafzotaj in Shijak.

“Three thefts in a market and two businesses have been clarified and documented, and work continues to legally document several other thefts suspected to have been committed by this citizen.

Crime Investigation Specialists at the Shijak Police Station, after intensive work to uncover and legally document several thefts that occurred in businesses in the Shijak area, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed ‘Shumat’.

Within the operation, the arrest and detention of citizen R. T., 27 years old, resident of Shijak, were carried out.

From the investigative actions, it resulted that this citizen is suspected of being the author of three earlier thefts committed in different businesses in the Shijak area, where he stole sums of money, valuable items, and various accessories from a market and two businesses in the villages of Borak and Xhafzotaj in Shijak.

In cooperation with the Prosecutor’s Office, work continues to uncover and legally document several other theft cases suspected to have been committed by this citizen.

As material evidence, the clothes used during the thefts were seized from him. The materials were forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Durrës for further actions, for the criminal offense of ‘Theft’,” the police announced.
