Hid with an arsenal of weapons/ Police arrest associate of Ramadan Zoto

In the city of Fier, police arrested A. I., 50, who had previously been declared wanted for illegal possession of weapons and was also assisting in hiding and sheltering another individual highly sought by authorities. The latter, after an armed conflict in Saranda on July 17, had injured two people and gone into hiding.

A thorough search of A. I.’s home, which served as a shelter for the fugitive, uncovered a true arsenal of weapons. Police seized three pistols with magazines and ammunition, an automatic rifle, a silencer mechanism, a night-vision scope, a drone, and around 600 rounds of military ammunition.

The investigation confirmed that the residence had been used to shelter Ramadan Zoto, 43, wanted for attempted murder and illegal possession of firearms. He was later arrested in Korçë, where police found him armed with a pistol loaded and ready to fire. The Saranda Court had previously issued a “prison arrest” measure against him.

A. I. now faces serious charges for harboring a wanted person and for keeping a weapons arsenal in his home. Investigations continue to fully clarify the connections between the suspects and to identify any other individuals involved in the case.
