Incident in Korçë: 25-year-old accused of assaulting a citizen over trivial reasons

Korçë police announced that they have referred the case to the Prosecutor’s Office and have initiated criminal proceedings against citizen E. L., 25 years old, resident of Korçë. The action was taken after the young man is suspected of punching a 53-year-old man over trivial motives.

According to official information, the incident occurred following a verbal dispute that escalated into physical violence. As a result, the victim sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for medical assistance, while the 25-year-old was escorted for questioning by investigators.

The collected materials have been submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Korçë District Court, which will continue the criminal proceedings for the offense of “Assault due to weak motives.” Authorities stressed that they will prioritize handling all cases of violence, with the aim of preventing similar incidents in the future.
