Investigations closed for Ilir Meta, lawyer says: a mountain of charges, resulted in nothing

Prosecutor Sotir Kllapi Officially Communicates Closure of Investigations to Former President Ilir Meta.

At the session, lawyer Kujtim Cakrani was also present, while Meta was transported from the detention facility 313 to the Special Prosecutor’s Office (SPAK).

The communication regarding the closure of the investigations was originally scheduled for last week but was postponed due to the absence of Meta’s lawyer, who was abroad.

Earlier, on May 27, Meta was formally notified of the charges by SPAK, and the same procedure for closing the investigations was followed for Monika Kryemadhi, Pirro Xhixho, Ema Coku, and Fatime Kryemadhi.

Lawyer Cakrani stated that the “mountain of charges” against Meta proved baseless and that his client is innocent of all the points raised in the case file.

The prosecution is expected to decide whether the case will proceed to trial or be definitively closed.
