Korçë Traffic Police “crackdown” with arrests and criminal proceedings. Here’s what happened!

The Traffic Police arrest/prosecute 7 individuals for driving vehicles irregularly and/or violating road traffic rules.

The services of the Road Traffic Sector of the Korçë Local Police Directorate, as part of measures to increase road safety parameters, have continued inspections on all road axes of the county. As a result of the checks carried out during this weekend, the following individuals were arrested in flagrante delicto:

A. G., 50 years old, resident of Bilisht, after being caught on the “Bilisht–Hoçisht” road driving a vehicle while intoxicated;

B. F., 38 years old, resident of Korçë, after being caught driving a vehicle while intoxicated;

B. G., 21 years old, resident of Bilisht, Devoll, after being caught on the “Bilisht–Miras” road driving a vehicle without a driving license.

Additionally, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office, where criminal proceedings were initiated against the following individuals:

A. Gj., 40 years old, resident of Tirana, after on the “Korçë–Kolonjë” road, in the village of Borovë, while driving a motorcycle, is suspected of having lost control, as a result of which the motorcycle left the road. The driver was slightly injured in the accident and is receiving medical treatment at the Ersekë hospital, out of danger to life;

Dh. T., 23 years old, resident of Korçë, after on the “Korçë–Dardhë” road, near the intersection of the village of Boboshticë, while driving a vehicle, is suspected of having lost control, as a result of which the vehicle left the road. The driver was slightly injured in the accident;

Two minors, aged 16 and 17, after being caught driving vehicles without a driving license.

The materials were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Korçë.

The Traffic Police call on all road users to respect traffic rules, not to carry out improper overtaking or dangerous maneuvers on the road, not to drive under the influence of alcohol or while intoxicated, and invite citizens to report any traffic violations, guaranteeing an immediate response.
