Movie-like chase, injured after pulling a gun on police officers

A dramatic operation was recorded in Greece, where a 42-year-old Albanian man was injured by police after a chase and armed confrontation in Athens.
According to Greek media, the incident occurred around 5:00 a.m., when officers from the Anti-Extortion Unit were carrying out routine checks in the area and identified a suspicious individual.
As soon as he realized the presence of the police, the Albanian man attempted to flee, forcing officers to pursue him. During the escape attempt, the 42-year-old allegedly pulled out a gun and tried to point it at law enforcement officers. At that moment, police responded with gunfire, injuring him in the ear.
The injured man was transported by ambulance to Attikon University Hospital, where, according to preliminary information, he was conscious. His exact health condition remains unknown.
Greek authorities immediately launched an investigation to fully identify him and examine his criminal background. According to media sources, the Albanian man is suspected of having links to a well-known figure in the criminal world and is believed to have been evading arrest.
During a body search and inspection of his personal belongings, police found a bag containing six hand grenades, raising alarm among authorities over possible criminal plans or dangerous acts that may have been in preparation.
The investigation is continuing under the Homicide Unit, while further details regarding the activities of the 42-year-old Albanian man in Greece are expected to emerge in the coming hours and days.
