A convicted man has died in the early hours of the morning at the premises of the University Hospital Center “Mother Teresa” in Tirana.


According to the official statement, citizen Hajri Robi passed away at around 05:00 in the Central Intensive Care Unit as a result of a cardiorespiratory arrest.


According to the announcement, the 68-year-old had been arrested on March 12, 2026, for the criminal offense of “domestic violence.” He was transferred to Lezha Prison on March 14, 2026, in execution of a decision by the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Durrës.


On March 30, 2026, the convicted man was sent from the correctional institution to the Prison Hospital Center for medical treatment. Due to the deterioration of his health condition, on April 2 he was urgently admitted to the Central Intensive Care Unit at QSUT.


According to official sources, he had been diagnosed with arterial hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and a left subtrochanteric fracture.


Statement:


The convicted individual, Hajri Ramazan Robi, passed away at around 05:00 at the University Hospital Center “Mother Teresa,” in the Central Intensive Care Unit, as a result of cardiorespiratory arrest.


The convicted person under compulsory medical treatment, Hajri Ramazan Robi, born on 07.01.1958, born and resident in Durrës, had been arrested on 12.03.2026 for the criminal offense of “domestic violence.” He entered Lezha Prison on 14.03.2026, in execution of Decision No. 156, dated 13.03.2026, of the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Durrës.


On 30.03.2026, the convict was transferred from Lezha Prison and admitted to the Prison Hospital Center. On 02.04.2026, he was urgently admitted to the Central Intensive Care Unit, diagnosed with arterial hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and a left subtrochanteric fracture.


All legal procedures established for this case have been followed, with notification given to the Internal Control Service of Prisons, the Prosecution Office, the Police Commissariat, as well as the family members.
