A 43-year-old man wanted internationally by Italian authorities has been arrested in Fier.
The operation was carried out by the Directorate of the Special Operational Force and was finalized under the name “Operacionalja 74”.
The detainee, Elvis Ziu alias Renato Ziu, a resident of Fier, was wanted by the Court of Caltanissetta in Italy, which on September 1, 2025 had issued a detention order “arrest in prison” for the charges of:
Drug trafficking
Participation in a structured criminal group
After being located and captured, the 43-year-old was taken into custody for the purpose of extradition to Italy.
Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with Interpol Rome, has already started the extradition procedures.
