The Albanian community in the USA and in Albania has been shaken by the tragic news of the deaths of two young Albanians, Samira Xhaferi and Albi Çela, who lost their lives in a car accident in Cleveland, Ohio, on November 11.

Their families have launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for transporting the bodies to Albania and covering funeral expenses.

According to the information shared in the fundraising initiative, Samira, 27, was a PhD student at Cleveland State University, known for her passion for research, dedication, and intelligence.

Albi, 30, was nearing the completion of his studies at Cleveland State University Law and was preparing for the bar exam, a step that would have launched his career as a lawyer.

Engaged and deeply connected to each other, Samira and Albi shared a special love for books and the world of “Harry Potter.” Friends and family describe them as calm, kind, and loving young people, who brought warmth and positivity wherever they went.

The campaign aims to raise the necessary funds to transport Samira and Albi’s bodies to their homeland, as well as to organize their burial and memorial ceremonies in Albania.

The families appeal to all Albanians, both in Albania and abroad, to contribute according to their means or to share the initiative in order to honor the memory of the two young people who were taken too soon.
