Prostitution network hit in 3 apartments, three foreign women arrested

An anti-crime police operation codenamed “Flats” has been finalized in Tirana, during which three apartments allegedly used for prostitution by foreign nationals were discovered.

As a result of the operation, three foreign women were arrested—two Chinese nationals and one Vietnamese national—while two other individuals have been criminally prosecuted for the offense of “prostitution.”

In its announcement, the police stated: “3 Chinese and Vietnamese women arrested. 2 individuals prosecuted for the offense of ‘Prostitution’.”

Two mobile phones containing communications related to the activity were also seized.

As a result of operational and investigative work aimed at identifying cases of rented premises being used for prostitution, specialists from the Trafficking Investigation Section finalized the operation codenamed “Flats,” during which three more cases of this activity were dismantled. The arrested individuals are:

Chinese citizens K. S., 39, and W. G., 42, suspected of each having rented an apartment on Rruga e Elbasanit to carry out prostitution;

Vietnamese citizen T. (N. L.) V., 43, suspected of having rented an apartment on “Vangjush Furxhi” street for the same purpose.

Following further actions in these cases, proceedings in a free state were initiated against two individuals for the criminal offense of “Prostitution.”

The procedural materials have been referred to the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
