New developments from the major human trafficking operation
New details have emerged from the operation targeting a prostitution network in Tirana. Sources report that the group was based in a hotel in the capital, near the area known as "Tregu Çam."
The head of the group in Albania is a Colombian national named Lukas Giraldo Bentacur, while his father, Giraldo Bentacur, is the main organizer of the network at the European level. He ran several prostitution networks across Europe and is known as one of the most prominent figures in organized crime in Colombia.
For his arrest in Colombia, officers from the Albanian Police also traveled there and successfully carried out the detention in cooperation with local authorities.
In the city of Medellín, a group of Albanian officials, including the Deputy Director of the Tirana Police, the head of the anti-trafficking and narcotics sector, and the prosecutor handling the case, participated in the joint operation.
