The meteorologist of “MeteoAlb,” Lajda Porja, has provided details about the weather situation in the country, warning of a strong storm expected to affect Albania.

According to Porja, on Wednesday wind speeds will reach up to 100 km/h, while temperatures will remain warm.

The meteorologist also stated that February is expected to be a wet month.

“Even though we are in February, weather conditions continue to resemble those of January. This morning temperatures dropped to -2°C, with precipitation in the northeastern areas, and -1°C in the Korçë region.

Usually, February is considered a dry month, but this year it will be wetter and with higher temperatures. This week will be mostly unstable. Today only brief and light precipitation is expected, while Tuesday and Wednesday will bring a break in rainfall.

In the second part of the week, a change in weather is expected, with Wednesday being very warm. On Wednesday we will experience strong wind storms on land and even more so at sea, where wind speeds will reach 95–100 km/h, causing problems for maritime traffic. Throughout the week, temperatures will fluctuate around 16–17 degrees Celsius,” Porja said.
