Pogradec/2 more cases of illegal cutting of forests are established and punished.

They were transporting firewood with trucks, cut illegally, 2 citizens are being prosecuted.

33 m3 of timber, without the relevant documentation, and the 2 trucks that served to transport them were seized.

Specialists for the Investigation of Crimes of the Pogradec Police Station, during intensified patrols with the aim of preventing and combating illegalities, have ascertained and struck 2 more cases of illegal cutting of forests, cases for which the materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office where it started proceeding in a free state for citizens:

-D. P., 54 years old, resident in the village of Leshnicë, Pogradec, after he was caught transporting 15 m3 of firewood with a "Benz" type truck, without the relevant documentation, on the road axis "Pogradec-Korçë", in Qafë Plloçë;

- K. Sh., 35 years old, a resident of Pogradec, near the village of Vërdovë, Pogradec, was caught transporting 18 m3 of firewood with a "Man" type truck, without the relevant documentation.

Quantities of wood and vehicles were seized as material evidence.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Korçë General Jurisdiction, for further actions.

The Korçë Local Police Department appeals to all citizens not to get involved in illegal activities that harm the environment: such as illegal cutting of trees, construction without permission, illegal taking of inert materials, waste of land, pollution of water or of the air, as the controls continue continuously even at night, and every attempt will be detected and will be punished with the force of the law.
