POLICE / 3 cases of border illegality. Here is the statement from Korça Police!

Korça Border and Migration Directorate / Three cases of border violations detected at Qafë-Thanë–Tushemisht and Kapshticë border crossing points.

During thorough checks carried out based on risk analysis, on individuals and the vehicles they were traveling with, the services of the Korça Border and Migration Directorate identified three cases of border violations at the entry points into the Republic of Albania.

Specifically:

At the Qafë-Thanë and Tushemisht BCPs:

1– During the inspection of the vehicle driven by citizen P. K., 66 years old, resident of Berat, a quantity of food products without accompanying invoices was found. At the conclusion of the procedural actions, legal proceedings were initiated against the 66-year-old for the criminal offense of “Smuggling of other goods”.

2– Border Police services in Pogradec, during patrols near the village of Lin, identified citizen R. S., 47 years old, resident of Lin, who was found in possession of food products without purchase invoices. Verification revealed that the 47-year-old had crossed the border illegally. Following the procedural actions, legal proceedings were initiated against him for the criminal offenses of “Smuggling of other goods” and “Illegal crossing of the state border”. The goods were seized as material evidence.

At the Kapshticë BCP, citizen A. K., 36 years old, resident of Prrenjas, was caught after verification showed he had crossed the border illegally. Legal proceedings were initiated against him for the criminal offense of “Illegal crossing of the state border”.

Controls against border violations and attempts to move illegally continue, alongside efforts to manage the flow of travelers and provide fast and ethical police service to citizens.

The procedural materials were referred to the Korça Prosecutor’s Office for further actions.
