POLICE / 56-year-old arrested for engaging in illegal hunting!

A citizen was caught in the act in the village of Selcë e Poshtme, Pogradec, while carrying out illegal hunting and is being prosecuted. At the location where this individual was caught, 2 birds killed with a hunting weapon were found.

Seized were 1 hunting weapon, ammunition, and 1 vehicle.

The Pogradec Police Department services, based on the action plan prepared by the Korçë Local Police Directorate for preventing and combating illegal hunting and logging activities, carried out inspections in various areas across Korçë County.

During the inspections, in the village of Selcë e Poshtme, Pogradec, 1 citizen was caught in flagrante delicto while conducting illegal hunting in the area. At this location, 2 birds killed with a hunting weapon were found.

Following the actions taken in this case, the specialists for Crime Investigation at the Pogradec Police Department referred the case files to the Prosecutor’s Office, initiating proceedings in a free state against citizen E.S., 56 years old, resident of Elbasan.

The procedural materials were submitted to the Korçë Prosecutor’s Office for further action, for the criminal offense of "Violation of the quarantine of plants and animals."
