Police officer arrested by colleagues in Pogradec after causing an accident while under the influence of alcohol

The Police Oversight Agency of the Elbasan–Korçë Region has arrested a border police officer from Pogradec in flagrante, after he caused an accident while driving under the influence of alcohol.

The individual in question is inspector D. O., serving as a Patrol Officer at the Pogradec Border Police Station. He is suspected of committing the criminal offense of “Irregular vehicle operation.”

“His arrest took place after, at around 22:31 last night, while driving his vehicle on ‘Rinia’ Street in Pogradec, he was involved in an accident that caused material damage to five parked cars.

Following verification with the alcohol test, he tested positive with readings of 1.36 mg/l and 1.33 mg/l,” the Police reported.
