Police officer wounded with a firearm during the night, authorities searching for the perpetrator

On May 18, 2026, at around 00:10, in the Shkoza area, under still unclear circumstances, citizen A.K., around 30 years old, an off-duty police officer, was wounded, suspectedly with a firearm.

The 30-year-old was transported to the hospital and is out of danger for his life.

Immediately after receiving the notification, police services set up checkpoints and are continuing intensive searches in the area with the aim of capturing the perpetrator(s).

The investigative group and the Police Oversight Agency, under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, are at the scene and working to fully clarify the circumstances, identify the perpetrator(s), and legally document the incident.
